Ebay buyer paid after unpaid item case was closed?

PayPal sends an eCheque when the buyer has no backup funding, i.e. only one payment method on file (Card expired?) and it does take several weeks to clear properly.

In the circumstances all you can do is issue a refund from PayPal *IF* the funds are cleared into your account now, if they're not cleared (yet) then wait 'til they are. eBay closed the case in your favour so you're not obliged to send the item anymore, and it's the previous buyers loss, unfortunate for them but it's as good as sorted for you. Just let the new auction run and hopefully you'll have a new buyer soon. Good luck
