I recently purchased a Chromecast. Since it's so new, the guys who make useful software are just now figuring out how to do something cool with the device. Until then, you can stream You Tube videos, Netflix movies, and stuff like that. And, if you use Google's Chrome browser you can send whatever's on your browser to the TV. You may have to wait a while before there's an app the streams your personal collection of movies or pics to the TV.
To make this thing work: 1. You need a Wi-Fi router (and Internet service, of course) 2. You need an HD TV with a spare HD port. And possibly a spare electrical plug nearby. 3. The "initiating" device does not need Wi-Fi capability -- but it doesn't hurt. 4. You won't believe this darn thing is only $35 after using it! HTH |
