I feel your pain, but...

you have to remember that Google is more about automation and less about human interaction when thinking in terms of SRO. In other words, they just don't have the manpower to visually discern what's good and what's not.

It makes sense, then, to grab their attention without "a bazillion kajillion links" if you want to be seen high on the list. Anyone can get buried three hundred pages deep - but that's not what yu want.

Is the Google system perfect? Nope. Are they bazillionaires? Yup. You gotta give them credit for at least knowing how to show me the money.
