Is it possible to add metadata to a Wordpress site without a Plugin?

Meta data is not what it was.

I shall point you in the direction of some, websites.

I take it you can access your site through Wordpress.org (goodness me, I sounded as if I know what I am talking about lol)

On the menu look for Pages then open ~All pages~ below each Page entry there will be Edit,

Click on that for the page you want.

There will be a screen which is the Editor, (I find it best to open another tab with my website on it open on the page I want)

If you look at the Editor there are two tabs, visual & text.

First click on visual, this should show your site more or less WYSIWYG, then click back to text.

This will have some HTML (not all of it is shown and in fact that is better especially from your point of view) if your headline is in large print on your website (why I have another tab with mine on) it should have <H1>In front and at the end.</H1>

If the headline is just the same size as the rest then do this, and press ~Update~ Which is an orange button to the right of your editing page.

This takes a few seconds then look at your actual webpage and refresh the page the arrow with a circle top left of browser, if in Chrome or right click and refresh in Internet explorer. The heading should now be in large print.

H2 is smaller <h2>and so on.</H2>

Also at the bottom of the editor page you will find ~Excerpt~ this is where you can put in what you want google to show people in the search results for your website, this helps google find you.

Always remember to update and update as often as you wish.

Lisa Irby is your friend, her site is spot on because it is frequently updated (I came across a top rated website, that was about 4 years out of date?) and worth checking her site for tips, and to bend your webmasters ear ha ha.

If you put in the following into google search cache:http://www.yourwebsite.com, replace ~yourwebsite~ with your webs name and ~.com~ with your extension if different like .co.uk, it will tell you when Google last searched your website, do a different search for each page.
