Go to associated and relevant blogs, forums and leave some comments and every now and then link back to your own site. Ranking is all about links, the more you have the higher you go. It honestly is not much more difficult than that.

Write articles on your subject and link them back to your site. Put your site in yout twitter and facebook profile as they count as links. Link as much as you can
