I really want an iPod Touch, but...?

I'm afraid my parents will say no? I haven't asked them yet. Christmas and my birthday are so far away, but I really want one. It seems like everyone has an iPhone or iPod Touch, and I wanted an iPhone but that's obviously too expensive, so I didn't even bother asking. They bought me a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, (which I know wouldn't sell for very much :/) and I'm wondering if I could sell that to get at least SOME of the money needed to buy an iPod Touch. I love music and, since I have an Android phone, I have no music-downloading apps other than crappy ones. Plus, it has cool photo-editing apps for Instagram. And it seems like Apple has everything that Android doesn't. So, how do I ask my mom to get an iPod Touch or to sell my tablet to buy one? I would ask my dad, since he would probably let me sell it, but he's deployed right now...
So, if I were to sell my Tablet, how much would it sell for?
