Question about google adwords?

I used google adwords many years ago. Now that have logged back in, I see the whole format has changed. Last time I used it there was a very smart research tool which allowed you to choose keywords. You entered a keyword and google told you a) how many people used that keyword as a search tool and b) how popular it was amongst merchants - i.e. how many sellers already had that keyword listed. I can't seem to find this tool now. Can anyone suggest?
