What is wrong with my internet connection/router?
About a year ago Virgin Media gave me a free complimentary router to replace my old one I've had for three years. They also installed a new access point for the internet lead and moved the router to my living room. It worked fine for about 6 months then all of a sudden the connection became slow and/or disconnected randomly. I figured it was because of the new location, so I bought an extender so my connection would be better upstairs. This worked fine again for about two weeks then it kept on disconnecting again. We found the route of the problem being whenever my dad went on his Ipad or Xbox to watch sky go the connection for everyone else would go and no one else could sustain a connection. When I looked at the router the DSL, WLAN and Internet icons are flashing like crazy and often turn themselves off for a few seconds before turning back on. We figured we could solve it by just timing when we would use the internet, this again didn't work and now the connection is unbearable. I'm losing my mind waiting for the connection to come back so I can post this question. (Below is a list of things I have tried)
- Bought an Extender - Reset the router - Moved the router location - Changed the type of encryption on the router Do you have any idea what is wrong with it? and how can I fix this? Ads |
