first, do you know if your graphics card (or integrated graphics card for most laptops) is DirectX9 compatable, if it's not, then you'd need to eather get a \DX9 Graphics card, or a new laptop. if you don't know, contact the people you got the laptop/desktop off, and ask them.

if it is DX9 compatable, then i recomend you do what Phil said and downlaod DX9. Smile
