If I understand you correctly, no. Your hardware usually will not require any special passwords or other info if you are just hooking them up to the ethernet network. What you MIGHT need is the IP address of the LAN side of the ethernet router you are using. But normally just leave everything set to dynamic. It should be pretty much plug and play. On a wireless network, you need passwords to keep outside systems from hopping on your LAN for a free ride. But wired networks don't have that problem and in a lot of cases are quite a bit more reliable and faster. On the outbound side, your router may need a special user name and PW if it's somethng like an ADSL PPOE connection. You need to check with your provider about that.
