Is he emotionally torturing me on purpose?

There is this guy who goes to college with me. We never really talked before until yesterday when we went on a trip along with other people. Then, last night right after I got home I noticed that he was online on fb so I sent him a "hi". He replied immdiately and we started casually talking. Then, he began flirting with me in such a shameless obvious way. I was thrilled because I already had a tiny crush on him and he's cute so it was all perfect. But then suddenly he went offline and left the chat. Didn't go back at all to fb. It's morning now and I still haven't heard from him. I feel so embarrassed tbh. Do you think he's doing this on purpose ? You know, trying to get me attached then just disappearing into thin air like a player. And I can't even see him at school until after two weeks :/ I know it's too early to predict, maybe his internet was acting up or whatever, but ugh, I just keep thinking about him!

Any advice ?
