Which internet connection is best?

Currently, I have Clearwire internet, it is horrible. I lag so much when I play MW3 online. Where I live I get bad connection with Clearwire. I am thinking about either switching to AT&T or Comcast for my internet provider. There is a few questions for each provider. If there is any other better internet provider may you please notify in your answer.

1.) How do I connect to the internet (Broadband/Wireless or Land Line/Wired)
2.) Does the quality of the internet connection depend on where I live
3.) What internet provider do you currently use
4.) How many Mbps does each internet provider provide and at what price

P.S. Internet only no cable or home phone also just internet itself
