Congratulations, you're fucked.
You're probably aware by now that you have made an extremely poor decision in having your emotionally unstable comrade in the friendzone believe you reciprocate his feelings.
Tell him the truth. Apologize. Give him a week to hate your existence. Organize to see him (in which time, ensure he's alright, and attempt to resurrect your friendship.) If he descends into self pity, or acts out any hostility towards you, LEAVE HIM BE.
In future, regardless of the other person's feelings, do NOT lead them on.
