Why can I no longer copy a link in Google Maps / Street View?

To the left of the screen on Map View or Street View there is a little "chain / link" icon which when clicked provides you with a URL which can be copied and given to other people in IM or email which when clicked will open up the exact view that you are looking at on Maps / Street View. However, when I now click the chain / link icon and proceed to highlight the generated URL, when I right click, there is no "copy" option available....it's very frustrating. I tried writing the URL into the address bar - this worked...but obviously I don't want to write a URL each time I want to share a view from Google Maps / Street View.

Why can I no longer copy a URL from Google Maps?!?!?! I use Google Chrome.
