My PC auto-initiated an update to Norton 360. Something went horribly wrong, and Norton indicated an 8504,104 error, and quit working. It indicated I should download Norton Power Eraser, and use it to blow away my current installation of Norton 360. Then go to the Norton website and download a new (repaired?) copy of 360. The PROBLEM is when I try to connect to the internet, Mozilla Firefox says Can’t Establish a Connection to (any) Internet Server.
So the first thing I need help with is how to reestablish connection to the internet. Suggestions, please?
To clarify: I agree deleting Norton will be necessary. But does doing so restore my internet connection? (And I agree Norton is going off my machines permanently.)
Sorry to be so thick about this, but once I am in safe mode with networking, how do I issue the commands to download and run Norton removal tool? Typing in https...etc doesn't work.
