Help me with this mystery symbol?

You're right, that is a Viking symbol, though not a Viking rune. It was only ever used by the Viking royalty of Norway (circa 900AD). It was first used by one of the son's of King Olav The Black. At that time, it was only part of (I guess you'd call it a ) 'psuedo-magic talisman. To archaeoligists & people who study the vikings, it is little more than a symbol of unknown meaning. However, if you know the history of it, you will see that what it really is is it's a map. ....
