Help me with this mystery symbol?

After a thorough investigation I can confirm that the sole depiction of that symbol on the internet is on your facebook page.

Just flip it, and you can see it. The image is a form of runic magic inscribed on a stick in the 16th century. In this particular case the stick would kill the cattle of the person who had the stick in his house. If we assume the symbol on the right is the murder part, it is possible what you have is an amulet supposed to ward off murderers.

PS: It's not from the Viking Age. Stainless steel did not exist in Scandinavia at the time (and then certainly not on Iceland), and the oxidation rate of most other metals means the amulet, unless it is more than two centimeters thick, should have rusted away a long time ago. Unless it's gold, which would be an extremely rare find in what was at the time a quiet Norwegian farming colony primarily relying on silver from Norway and Francia.
