Can internet providers track torrents?

As ComicBook Reader said, Yes they easily can. There is something you can Google called 'The Six Strike Rule'. Basically the biggest ISP's in America (most of them at least) agree'd that when they become aware of illegal downloads, they'll send you SIX warnings, the 7th time they can throttle your internet speed down or disconnect you completely. I've been downloading, stuff, on the internet since the 'Warez' days (mid-late 90's). Every single person I know downloads 'stuff' as well. I've never known ONE person, ever, to have any type of action brought against them, or even so much been warned by Police or Lawyers for downloading copyrighted material. I've gotten 1 warning in my life a few months ago for downloading 10 or so episodes of Breaking Bad. Been downloading since, no issues. Don't worry about it, you're not going to get arrested or sued.
