Internet connection problem?

If your game is still running, then it is probably your ISP's DNS servers that are down/inaccessible.

Your game is running because many games use a different prototcol to browsers (which run http on port 80). Consequently many games programs do not need ti use the DNS servers. The same is ture of some instant messenger programs.

So check your Internet Connections/Internet Protocol (TCPIP) Properties and see if your DNS settings are correct (as per your ISP's recommendation). Grab the DNS IP numbers and ping them to see if they respond.

In Windows you ping by opening the command prompt from your Programs/Accessories. Then type:

ping <the dns ip number goes here>

Example:

ping 4.2.2.1

If they don't respond (you get a time out), it is possible that your ISPs DNS server IP addresses have changed or the servers are not working right now.

There are free DNS servers you can use instead of your ISP's DNS servers. The number above is one of the best known ones.

So try adding 4.2.2.1 to your Intenet Protocol properties as the DNS server. Just one is enough to gett things going.

Good luck.
