The only way you'll know is if you ask her. Are you really close with her? Can you just say something like "What would it be like if you and I got together?" Because I'm a straight girl, but me and my gal friends talk about eeevvverything so we could say things like that to each other. Or you could just tell her that she's the kind of girl you would date and see how she responds? You could just ask her "would you ever go on a date with me? Because you're totally my type."

I guess in the end, the only way you'll know is if you muster up the courage to ask her. If she's a true friend and a down-to-earth girl then she'll be nice about it.
