Re-entry to active duty?

So answer this: assuming you were active duty at the time of your injury, wouldn't they have done the surgery on you and then you would have gone to rehab for the elbow injury? And how would an elbow injury keep you from doing your job in the first place? I would THINK the proper procedure would be to have the surgery, be put on a 'restricted duty' profile or light duty so you could do certain aspects of your job while rehabilitating and physical therapy, then returned to full duty and the restriction or profile removed.

This is nothing you would have had to 'get out' for to address. There is something MISSING from your story. Care to share?

Outside of that, the word of 2 civilian orthopedic SURGEONS means nothing unless the military specifically contracted with them to evaluate your injury and provide a prognosis. Civilian MD's usually are not familiar with the unique situations a military member may encounter while in the service, so their opinion is just that. An opinion. unless the government specifically enters into a 'consultation agreement' with them) and provides specific guidance on what to look for), their report only would carry slightly more weight than your own evaluation.


If you were active duty (not guard / reserves called to temp active duty) and got out, you are prior service now and we are pulling people out of the Middle East so the need for Arabic translators is going down.
