How long does it take to get over an ex?

It's been 4 months since I was dumped by my boyfriend of one year and I seriously thought I would NEVER get over him. I was always thinking about him, our relationship, always crying about it, getting super pissed whenever I saw him, etc. Now I don't think about him at all anymore, and when I run into him I don't feel anything. It just sorta happened over time, I guess it just happened without me noticing.
I think it depends on the depth of your relationship, and the kind of person you are. Some people hold grudges for ages or just can't handle breakups as well, and some people have positive attitudes and move on more quickly.
I think spending more time with your girl friends, deleting him from Facebook and other social media sites, and not contacting him at all whatsoever will help speed up the process. That's what helped me
