Listen, I know what you mean, but it could be so much worse.

7 years ago my brother shot and killed a man.

He showed up at my doorstep covered in blood and I turned him into the police force. He was put to death 7 years ago to this day. On cold and dark nights I can still hear his screamst- the same screams he let out when he was in the electric chair. Sometimes I can hear his footsteps outside of my bedroom door when I'm trying to sleep- but then I realize its my dads footsteps- and then I remember the times when my dad would beat me savagely after a night out at the bars.
