Of course UCSD is a good school. It is highly ranked. I have heard that is not as social as some other schools. It falls somewhere in the middle. It is in a very nice location, there are tons of things to do nearby the school and many internship opportunities surrounding the area. UCs are research schools so you can volunteer and be involved in the research that they do and you may even get payed to to some research if a professor likes you and wants to hire you.
If you want to make friends, learn more about a particular field, hear people talk about their jobs, get internship opportunities etc. then you should join a club or two all four years that you attend the school. You can join an academic club, society, association etc. that is related to your major and/or your interests. Most clubs will also have facebook pages. I recommend you like several of them to learn more about different clubs that the school has. Here is their full list of clubs. I recommend you join any academic club for any major that you are interested in and want to learn more about. http://tonga.ucsd.edu/studentorgregistra...yList.aspx They have an extremely good UC San Diego Life facebook page. It tells you how to get involved in the school and take advantage of all of the opportunities that they offer. https://www.facebook.com/UCSanDiegoLife I also recommend you like them on their main facebook page to learn more about the school. what research the professors are doing, how to get involved etc. It is very helpful source to learn more about the school. https://www.facebook.com/UCSanDiego |
