Computer partially frozen after starting for half an hour?

Hi

Shut down again.
Switch on and constantly tap F8 about once per second.
You will come to the Advanced Startup Options.

Click on "Last Known Good Configuration"

If this doesn't work go back to Advanced Startup and try "Safe Mode"

If you can boot up in Safe Mode you should be able to access your files etc.

If, when you shut down you still can't boot up normally then boot up in Safe Mode again and try System Restore.

This is for Win7 If you have a different OS simply Google "System Restore Vista" or whatever OS you have to find out how to use it.
Select a date that is just prior to the start of your problems.

Files / data / photos etc will be OK.
