I like to play games but don't really get on there much except for that. This friend 'defriended' me a couple of times complaining that " he felt left out etc etc cuz I didn't speak with him regularly... then he would later say 'sorry' had a rough patch and ask me to re-add him...finally, one day he threatened to do it again, and I said, enough! Seriously, you are a stranger and I'm so busy at the moment I'm not giving enough time to family and friends. If I say, that I'm busy accept that I'm truly busy and it has nothing to do with you . I also told him that if he needed loads of attention I definitely wasn't the right person, because I was really busy and he would always feel neglected so if he went ahead and defriended me again to consider it permanent. He did and I was basically relieved. Now again he is making friendship requests, sending me little gifts etc. I've ignored it and am actually on FB even less than before but every time I see one of his requests I feel a little guilty. He is a nice person but seems really needy. I'm in a relationship and uninterested in anything but friendship and frankly am unused to people guilting me over not daily sending notes!! So is ignoring okay... or am I being meanI feel like if I accept him as a friend again , I'll find a barrage of notes from him again asking why I don't write more often etc. and that he seems to really get upset and take online friendships seriously whereas I'm casual if I see someone I know I say 'hey' but am on their to talk to real life friends, family and most often just to relax and play games.
