Which is faster? google chrome or firefox? why? 10pts?

chrome is faster and will probably get faster than firefox for a while

there are a couple of reasons for this
1) chrome has multithreaded memory management. firefox is single threaded - it only runs one process at a time - chrome runs a thread for every tab you have. it also restarts the thread for every page. for this reason the longer firefox is running, it starts to use hundreds of MB of memory and will eventually cause you to restart it or it will bog down as it uses your hard drive to function

2) chrome has a completely rewritten javascript engine so it runs more quickly on interactive pages.

this won't make a difference unless you use javascript driven sites like gmail or yahoo new mail, but most sites use a lot of javascript.

i don't see either of these issues on the firefox 3.1 feature page.
