That is going to depend on a few things. Unlike Firefox, each new tab in Google Chrome is like opening a whole new browser window, therefore if you open a lot of tabs Google Chrome could start to use a very large amount of memory and slow your computer down. Firefox will more than likely be faster if you like to open lots of tabs and don't have more than 1GB of RAM. From these benchmarks you can conclude that Firefox is slightly faster than Chrome when rendering Javascript. A growing number of websites now employ the use of Javascript in one way or another. The real loser in those benchmarks was IE. Firefox and Chrome were pretty much in a dead heat. If you like Chrome's UI more, then use Chrome. If you like Firefox's UI more, then use Firefox. I don't think that you will see a significantly noticeable difference in speed on most websites. |
