Your first problem is purchasing an Acer. There is a reason why they are so much cheaper than the competition ...

Given the relative stability of Windows 8 and the included version of IE,. I would guess that something has happened: IE is corrupted, a critical Windows file is damaged/corrupted, or you have some form of malware.

I suggest starting by using a restore point from before the problem started.
Failing that either perform a full scan of your system with a bootable AV product (most AV vendors provide a free disc image for this called a Rescue Disc or Repair Disc)
or back up your data and perform a factory restore (or do this if the AV scan doesn't help).

If none of the above solutions resolves the issue then you have a hardware failure and need to call Acer.
