Have you tried setting Never dial a connection under the Connections tab in Internet Options? You can find Internet Options in Control Panel or in the Tools section of Internet Explorer. You might also need to run the Internet Connections wizard and tell it your computer connects via a LAN and the LAN adaptor is your wireless adaptor.

Otherwise call in a professional who charges by the half hour and does not charge for call outs. Your problem would be fixed in less than half an hour.
