Where better to go than a college / uni itself to spread the word? Thats where most of the students are.

If your college / uni has a student association, which most colleges or unis do, you could get them to try and stick an advert in the college newsletter / newspaper or whatever they have. When I went to college last year they had digital signage in the eating areas and in the building foyers which seemed to gather lots of attention. If you are a college / uni student yourself then I don't see why they wouldn't do this for you for free.
