Suppose you own a website and want more people came to your site apart from your relatives friends, associates & loved one.
98% percent people use search engines like Google; Yahoo or others online search engine and search for the site which is beneficial for them by using keywords. Like if you want to buy online something you use the keyword Product name + buy online in search engine and you get your desired result. Mostly people click on the first 5 results.
That thing what SEO do, They bring the site's URL on the top of search result. For that he has do many changes in the site like Keyword stuffing, naming of the pictures, url submissions, article writing and many more. ( online & offline seo ).
