Youtube is a tricky thing, To get popular you generally have to make a video that people will share with their friends. DIY videos probably aren't a great way to get started on youtube because they point to a very specific audience. As for the website name, I would recomend getting at least a small following before you put up a website. Once you get some subscribers you can do a contest or something similar to come up with website name ideas. (With some kind of prize.)
