No-follow links don't pass PageRank but are followed and indexed unless blocked by other means. With that said, Matt Cutts from Google has made it very clear that we don't want to go out and work on only dofollow inbound links, with blog commenting, for example. That's considered PageRank sculpting and can get us into trouble. No-follow links won't hurt our websites and they are expected by Google as part of natural linking.
I'd also mention that any link from quality sites can drive traffic and traffic is, and will probably always be, a factor in SEO. |
