First of all if she like you she will chase you but you are saying that she made a few boyfriends before too...so that's the thing to worry about! Your dad maybe partially right but not fully wrong, Yes,Girls do manipulate/seduce/charm guys to use them...I liked your ignoring strategy so continue ignoring her and see if she gets back on her feet!
