Is your popularity on FB a fair representation of real life?
Unlike Myspace, I know personally almost everyone of my friends on FB. Some I only met once, others I know through work, some are old family friends, some are good friends. When I see someone write a mundane thing like "I'm happy " and they get 30 people commenting or liking it, I start to wonder how popular this person must really be (in real life). And conversely, if hardly anyone comments on my page, does this mean they don't really care? So many of my "friends" are people who I barely know really, and so few of them will ever write anything at all on FB. But the people that are actively commenting on what I write are people I would consider true friends in real life. I guess what I'm saying is, How do you determine how well liked you are though a social networking website? And if people strait up ignore you when you write them, should they even remain your FB friend? What can be done to bolster one's "popularity" on FB? How do I GET 30 comments for saying "I think I'll have a pear now"?? That's what I really wanna know!
