You never know what you would do. Each situation is different.

I know that GENERALLY I'd be much more inclined to forgive my spouse; we've in a committed legal partnership, and not forgiving would mean a messy, complicated breakup. No need to forgive a girlfriend/boyfriend; the cheating would tell me that the experiment is over and it didn't work out. Time to get a new gf. Not messy or complicated.
