Should I buy a Kindle?

So my mums old PC broke and she only uses Facebook, so I was looking around to buy her either a Kindle or a random tablet, trouble is I don't have a lot of money (Budget of about £30-£40) and have seen a number of Kindles on ebay for such prices, they are working and everything but I want to be sure that the Kindle can definitely handle facebook, not fussed about how much memory it needs as she prefers paper books over ebooks *shrugs* so should I go for a particular type of Kindle or can every one of them handle facebook?

Note: she will only be using the Kindle in the house so it only needs to be able to use Wi-fi (which I know all Kindles can do).
