You can go through all of the security settings on face book and make the website seem like a very secure and safe sight.
OR
Tell your friends you value your privacy. You can post a favorite meme, anime, movie/book character, quote, a cute pic of a pet, or anything that inspires you or something you enjoy. Have fun with putting all your favorite pics and putting them on your page. If you can draw or have a friend who is amazing at art ask them to draw a picture that you can post as your profile pic. Get creative and have fun with it but your friends should like you for you and not your profile.
