Why haven't I been hired? What am I doing wrong?

when i was job hunting and did applications online, i got 0 responses out of at least a hundred applications. then I went into where I work now, asked for an application, gave it back to them whithin a couple days and got hired 2 days later. its also best to give your application to a manager if you can because then they have already met you and will leave that first impression over the others. They will remember you over all the other ones that just handed it to someone who worked there or just did it online. first impression is the most important part.
