Following and unfollowing people who don't follow you back is the most common strategy but it can take a lot of work. Their are many tools to help automate the process. Make sure you follow your followers back or they may unfollow you. Having a complete profile and sending quality tweets are vital if you want to add Twitter followers. You should also add your Twitter profile to Twitter directories and include a link to your profile in your email signature and every place you can think of, like your Facebook page and website.
