I think she does need time to accept herself. She's confused and looking for something to make her feel good, but then social standards make her feel guilty. She's probably having a battle within herself, and pulling you down. I think you should keep trying to ask her about it, and if she doesn't tell you, let it go. There's no justification to making you miserable.
