What it seems like to me is that she thought of you as strictly a friend, and when you approached her to become "more than friends" but asking her on a date, she didn't like it.
Obviously there's better ways of dealing with this, but she took the chicken way out of ignoring you. Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot you can do to repair things. Wait and see if she comes to you and explains why she did what she did, and if not, oh well!
