Confront him and break up with him absolutely. How can he do that to you??? And I'm a GUY telling you this.

BUT HAVING SAID THAT...

Ask yourself WHY the fact that he left it at your house made you immediately want to look through it. Clearly there was already a suspicion, a lack of trust there. Without trust, what kind of relationship can you hope to have? Why were you staying with someone you don't trust? Maybe you should have got out of the relationship sooner in that case.
Just a note for future relationships. That, and do your best to avoid assuming that we are ALL like him. We are NOT.
