Facebook Profile Question ?

I have a crush non this guy. SO I look at his fb profile a lot. I hadn't been on fb for like a month/month & a half. And even before that I wasn't looking that much. But I looked the other day when i got on and now his picture pops up in the 8 friend box on my profile. He doesn't have friends displayed on his facebook profile, but I still don't want him to get creeped out or think i'm a stalker. Can he see that I view his profile even though he chose to have no friends displayed? I know I should stop looking but I can't help myself. And it's been a LONG time so i'm confused at to why he showed up anyway.
