Pros & Cons: iPhones VS Androids?

Pros & Cons: iPhones VS Androids?
I have Sprint and I'm due for an upgrade in a few months. I was never into iPhones mainly because I hate virtual keyboards, but now I'm curious about them. At the moment I have an HTC Evo Shift, which is the first smart phone I've ever gotten and I like it. However, it does give me problems with texting because sometimes people don't get my texts and vice versa.

I know people are going crazy over the new iPhone 5 right now, but I also heard the new Samsung Galaxy is amazing. Keep in my mind that I'm an average cell phone user, so I don't know much about the techy stuff when it comes to cell phones.

I use my phone for mainly texting, web browsing, taking pictures, watching videos and using apps like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and so on. I use my current phone for music, but I think I'll just get an iPod, so I won't have to use up so much memory. I rarely make calls on my phone and I've heard that iPhones have problems when it comes to calls, but that was mostly for AT&T users.

So what are the pros and cons of both iPhones and Androids in general? Not just specific phone models. Lots of details would be nice. Please, help! Thanks!
