Would you think it's weird if I never talked to you but I said hi on facebook?

Okay so there's this girl in my class that I want to be friends with, I've only talked to her twice (I don't mean a conversation just when I asked questions about this class etc.) and this year she's in most of my classes. I wanna say hi to her (on facebook) but I'm afraid she might think I'm weird and not reply.

Should I? And would YOU think it's weird if that happened to you? I'm trying to make more friends but I'm afraid she might think I'm weird and I'll lose my chances of making a new friend :L
I know, I won't just say "Hi", I'm actually gonna ask her something about what our homework was so that it would seem less creepy.
