First of all, any way that you promote that list is marketing. You're just marketing on a shoestring.

How do you currently get customers? When you are prospecting for customers, ask them to sign up for the list. Put your current customers on the list and ask them to forward to other biz owners.

Continue using Twitter. Use Facebook and Linked In. Go to local biz networking.
