Why do British people support multi-culturalism?

The reason for the political correctness that exists now a day in the Western countries is because they used to have real racial prejedice issues in their society and because of this history have now made it a point to squash out any sort of prejudice through law and the education process.
Britain has always fashioned themselves as being more racially accepting compared to the United States, who they have always looked down upon when it came to the racial problems the US has faced in it's history. It's easy not to have racial problems when 90% of your population is British. For the first time in centuries the white British population in England's is below 85%...still a vast majority in the country but they are dealing with a sizeable minority population now that they used to never have to deal with and what do you know Britain is now having racial issues arise. In the past two years Cameron, Merkel, and Sarkozy, the heads of state in the three most important European countries, have all come out publically against multi-culturalism citing the unwillingness of minorities to integrate into society along with immigrants taking advantage of the freedoms and entitlement programs while undermining society (this is exactly what you were talking about in your post). The media has been part of this politically correct society and they are very uncomfortable and completely hands off when it comes to dealing with stories dealing with race. The more and more the problem builds and the more and more instances occur the people will become more and more outraged and that is when something will be done. The media might continue it's politically correct nonsense but that will just result in the people developing alternative media or people demanding the news stations tell the real story. Our societies might be slow to act but there is only so much and if the problem builds and the people feel threatened that their way of life is being taken away that is when change will come. It always does.
