No, it's definitely not a coincident. Sounds like she isn't really that into you but liked the extra attention she was getting. Now she's not getting any of that and is probably a little jealous (of not getting attention from you anymore), and enlisted her friends to find out any info they can from you.

Some girls are like that. They are flattered with the extra attention you give them, even though they don't really want a relationship with you.
